Charles Cheng is admitted to practice in the State of California. Dr. Cheng is a frequent speaker at prestigious events, including the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights Expert Workshop, the World Blockchain Summit, GenAI Summit San Francisco, Berkeley China Summit and more. His expertise has been recognized by Forbes, Financial Times, and TedX. In 2021, Dr. Cheng received the distinguished honor of being elected as one of the Forbes 60 Outstanding Chinese in North America, a testament to his exceptional achievements and profound influence in the field.

Sonya Chen, Master of Berkeley

Sonya Chen is a cross-disciplinary entrepreneur and researcher with a background spanning finance, large-scale systems engineering, and AI community leadership. She studied Economics and Finance at USC and went on to earn a Master’s in Data Science at UC Berkeley. She began her career in Hong Kong on the Equity Capital Markets team of an investment bank before teaching herself programming and moving into engineering at Meta (Facebook/Instagram), where she spent nearly four years building recommendation systems that serve more than a billion daily active users.

Active in Silicon Valley’s startup ecosystem, she co-founded and hosted the GenAI Summit in 2024—the world’s largest generative AI conference, held at San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts. The event drew more than 30,000 participants and featured leading voices from NVIDIA, Meta, and X.ai. Today, she continues to share insights on cutting-edge AI research across major social platforms.
